What matters, technically
We built the KSB 6000 replacement lamp as a direct-fit infrared emitter, sized to meet the machine’s thermal load. It’s a quartz envelope running at the same wattage and voltage the KSB 6000 heating zones expect, so response is fast and heat is even—no hot spots. Physical fit is dead on: same overall length, same R7s connector alignment, same mounting footprint. It drops in without brackets or field mods. The spectral output is tuned for PET preform surfaces, so the energy goes into heating the preform, not into wasted heat that raises ambient temperature and stresses nearby components.
Why it holds up on the KSB 6000
On this machine, repeatable heating is what keeps the blow station stable. The lamp brings the heating curve back to its original shape, so you get tighter temperature control across the tunnel and fewer parameter swings between bottles. That means fewer thickness excursions, less scrap, and output you can count on. Energy use comes down because the emitter hits setpoint and holds it faster. Longer service life also means fewer changeouts during peak runs—less downtime, fewer spares, and fewer labor hours per thousand bottles.
The details that make the difference
Installation is straightforward, but alignment is the make-or-break. Check lamp position and reflector condition; even a small offset changes preform temperature and can force the blow molder to compensate. Run the lamp at the rated voltage, and keep the heating tunnel clean. Film buildup on reflectors and quartz will age any emitter faster. You’ll get the best life when the lamp stays within the specified voltage window and the machine’s temperature control is stable.
