Ever turned on a cheap infrared heater and felt like you were staring directly into the sun? It’s blinding. It’s harsh. And if you’ve got a baby in the bath, that kind of glare is the last thing you want. We wanted to fix that. The goal was simple: keep the cozy heat, but kill the blinding light.
Getting the light right
Most budget heaters just blast raw radiation at you. It works, sure, but it’s aggressive. We do things differently. We use a special coating on the quartz glass that acts like a filter. It lets the infrared warmth slide right through to your skin, but it blocks those sharp blue-light peaks that make you squint. The result? You get all the warmth without the headache. It’s just basic physics doing the heavy lifting.
Keeping the water out (and the heat in)
Water and electricity are a bad mix. Period. That’s why we put everything in an IP65-rated case. It keeps the steam and splashes from getting where they shouldn’t. But here’s the tricky part: if you seal a heater too tightly, it can overheat itself. To stop that, we use high-temp gaskets. They don’t melt or crack, even when the heater is cycling on and off all day. One quick tip: keep an eye on what you’re mounting this to. The housing holds onto some heat around the socket, so make sure your ceiling material can handle the warmth so you don’t end up with a scorched spot.
The trade-off
Here is the honest truth: because we filter the light, the lamp isn’t as “bright” as a clear one. But that’s a trade we’ll make every time. You lose a bit of glare, and you gain a lot of comfort. The lamp looks softer, but it still hits the right temperature in a matter of seconds. Just make sure you wire it to its own dedicated circuit. It keeps the power steady and stops those annoying flickers.
