If you’ve ever had a ceiling-mounted infrared heater die on you, you probably blamed the heating element. But here’s the thing: it’s rarely the element that gives out. The real culprit is almost always the lead-wire connection. Think about it. Heat rises. When you bolt a heater to the ceiling, all that warmth concentrates right where the electrical wires enter the quartz tube. It’s a brutal environment for a wire.
What happens when you go cheap
A lot of budget heaters just use basic glue or loose crimps. It works for a while. But then the heat cycles start kicking in. The insulation shrinks. It cracks. Because this seal is so heavy-duty, the wires are a bit stiffer than what you might be used to. Don’t force them.
