
Making Bathrooms Warm Without Blinding Your Kids
When we build infrared heaters for bathrooms, we’re fighting a bit of a battle. On one hand, you want that instant, cozy warmth the second you step out of the shower. On the other, you’re dealing with a ton of steam and—more importantly—sensitive eyes. If you’ve ever seen a standard short-wave lamp, you know they can be blinding. That harsh, bright glare is a real problem, especially for babies or toddlers who don’t know to look away. Nobody wants a heater that feels like a stadium floodlight in their bathroom. So, we did something about it. We added a special coating to the quartz glass that basically acts as a gatekeeper. It lets the heat through so you feel warm immediately, but it blocks out that aggressive blue light. The result? A soft, gentle glow. It’s much easier on the eyes and doesn’t make your pupils shrink or your retinas stress out. Then there’s the water issue. Bathrooms are wet. Really wet. If a single drop of water hits a glowing hot filament, the whole tube cracks. Boom. Done. To stop that from happening, we built these to IP65 standards. In plain English: we sealed the electrical bits and the housing so tight that dust can’t get in and water jets just slide right off. We also switched to high-grade quartz glass because it doesn’t freak out when it goes from freezing to boiling in a matter of seconds. Of course, nothing is free in engineering. By filtering out that harsh light, we lose a tiny bit of brightness. But honestly? That’s a trade we’re happy to make for safety. The bigger challenge is that a sealed, waterproof box traps heat. If you aren’t careful, the internal electronics will just cook themselves. That’s why we use heat-sinked chassis and heavy-duty, high-temp wiring. We make sure the heat goes toward the person in the room, not into the wires.
