It was born to solve a single, annoying problem—getting steady, predictable heat across the whole Sidel family, from the older SBO machines to the newer Matrix series—without making you rewire the heating zone or rework the whole setup. This is a halogen heating lamp, made for PET blowing. It’s compact, focused, and built to warm preforms with the same behavior, cycle after cycle.
Power, voltage, and size—kept simple
It runs at 400V. That choice is about staying calm on the line, where voltage can dip along long cable runs. Higher voltage also means lower current for the same wattage, so your terminals and wiring stay cooler and less stressed. The wattage is tuned to deliver the heat density you need for fast, repeatable preform heating. And with a 300mm tube length, the heat zone stays tight where the preform actually needs it—no wasted energy stretching farther than necessary. That shorter length matters in a very practical way. It keeps the same mounting footprint, so you can swap heaters without moving brackets or chasing clearances.
What’s inside—and why it behaves
Inside, it’s a halogen lamp. The chemistry helps keep the filament stable at high temperatures, so the output stays steady over the life of the tube. The quartz tube is coated, and not just for looks. The coating helps manage infrared transmission, pushing more of the energy toward the preform, improving repeatability and cutting down on wasted radiant heat. And the connector? R7s. It’s a proven, tough interface for linear halogen heaters—built to handle high heat at the ends, make solid contact, and get installed fast. On the floor, that means less downtime when a replacement is needed.
Compatibility without the compromise
We wanted full-series compatibility—SBO through Matrix—and that came down to two decisions. We held the physical dimensions so the heater drops straight into existing mounts. And we held the electrical interface so the machine wiring doesn’t change. But there is one important condition: this 400V halogen tube, with this wattage and length, runs hot in a concentrated way. Your machine’s cooling and airflow have to be up to the job. If they’re not, you risk overheating nearby parts and cutting the service life short.
