
Stop Fighting Your SIPA Rotary Blower
If you’ve ever dealt with uneven wall thickness or bottles failing during a run, you know the headache. It usually comes down to one thing: the heating. Here is the catch. When you swap out IR lamps and use something with a different wattage or voltage than what the OEM called for, you’re basically inviting trouble. You end up with “cold spots” and “hot spots” all over your oven. On a SIPA rotary machine, if your power isn’t a 100% match across every single lamp bank, your process is never going to be stable. The real-world physics of it We build our lamps to hit the exact voltage and wattage your SIPA oven expects. It sounds like a small detail, but if a lamp is off by even 5%, the heat flux shifts. Then your operators spend their whole shift chasing their tails, constantly tweaking PID settings just to keep things running. Using a true drop-in replacement means the heat stays consistent across the whole zone. No guessing. No tweaking. Glass and pins matter We use high-purity quartz glass because these lamps take a beating with rapid heating and cooling. Most of these use R7s or Sk15 connectors. These aren’t just about making the lamp fit into the slot. They’re about a tight, low-resistance connection. If the pins are loose or mismatched, you get arcing. That’s the fast track to a burnt-out socket and a dead lamp. What actually happens on the shop floor High-wattage shortwave lamps are great for fast cycle times—they deliver the heat density you need to keep production moving. But there’s a trade-off. More power in a small space means the inside of that oven gets hot. Really hot. This is where you have to be careful. Keep your blower fans clean. Make sure nothing is blocking the airflow. If your cooling system can’t keep up, the housings overheat and the quartz envelope just won’t last. Bottom line? Don’t guess on the wattage. Wiring a lamp that doesn’t match your transformer output is basically just planning for a premature burnout. Stick to the specs and let the machine do its job.
